so this is kind how we get into a religion:
A: family religion- your family has always been in that religion so it understandable that you follow the same some time this can be your race or heritage you have no other option
B: Personal- you have trouble in your life from sickness, lost, drugs, mental trouble, etc... that you fallen into a religion to better your self and make poistive changes to your life.....
C: in-personal - you have found you self follow a group of people that make you think and feel that you are a part of something but are really controlling you and your life "cult"
D: looking for enlightenment- enlightenment more talking about non-traditional religions like wicca, pagan, etc... really a religion that your trying to find a inner peace or follow the rules of natural trying to find a deeper meaning to your life.
Ok so we talking about why and how we get into a religion for what ever the reason now i want to talk about why GOTH and religion get mix up a little.....
SO FIRST THING ARE FIRST GOTH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION
Religion is a personal faith in a god/goddess you fall into a religion because of what i said above, now goth is a life choice not a religion choice so i hope that clear that up a little but i going to explain it more for people that do not get it...
GOTH always get miss taken as a religion due to the media and community miss labeling something they do not understand and the media just love to talk or jazz thing up to making a better story... ever know it is horrible wrong and a big lie doesn't matter.
Yes their are alot of goth in the world that follow non-traditional religion that the world look down on like paganism, wicca, satanism "devil worship"

I guess i sorry to say people us goth just love the dark and non-traditional side of life so we do take interest in darker thing but with that their are also non-goth that are interested in these kind of thing are religion as well [shock horror] i bet i just rocked your world a little bit their.....
i hope i did it the point im making everything in life lots of people do it not just a small group of people the world just keeps forgetting that religion is a faith.. it does change the person you are it doesn't making you listen to a type of music, dress differently, acted different. those are thing we do own our own for our own reason.
CULTS
the world has this funny idea that goth is a cult movement and it changing our kids and blah blah blah no your kids are deciding to be goth because they find that goth is who they are as a person. Their are alot of respectable goth that believe in god and religion that the world see as A-O-K.....
A cult is:

the main reason why the world see goth as a cult is because the media has told them it is so. So what the media say must be right and their a big part of the world that thing the media is right... and their was those few kids that did some horrible killing "those kid where not goth" but hey the media told the world "goth killing"....
Ever since that goth has always been seen as a religion to the old and grumpy and "parents" it mostly the mum and dad of the world that have taken it out of hand kid decide to become goth "oh they must be in a cult now"
GOTH SUB-CULTURE
Us the people of the gothic sub-culture is over the miss labeling of the term "GOTH" we are not some crazy religion that a horrible following "cult" that does evil and unnatural thing we are a proud and respectable sub-culture we are proud to be goth and live a dark life. Religion is a personal faith and belief system. Religion does make us goth... goth makes us goth religion is just what we choice to believe in life.
